(beavertonvalleytimes.com) — Health inspectors recently visited dozens of Beaverton restaurants, with many popular spots like Togo's, KingPins, and local coffee shops earning perfect 100 scores, while a few others scored below 85 for serious food-safety issues. If you eat out around town, these latest inspection results offer a useful snapshot of which kitchens are excelling and which had problems corrected during late August checks.
• School district gifts 1980s Beaverton High sweethearts with their old locker (kptv.com) — Beaverton residents are watching a piece of local history fade as the original Beaverton High School building undergoes demolition, but one alumni couple just received a special keepsake: their shared locker from the 1980s. The Beaverton School District salvaged the locker after seeing a TV story, surprising Christine and Robert Huseby on campus while students settle into the new Farmington Road building next door.
• People Crashing Into People: The Latest on Cars Hitting CU Buildings (thecudaily.com) — Beaverton police say three people were arrested after allegedly stealing beer and pizza from Von Ebert Brewing in Timberland Town Center, then crashing their getaway car into the under-construction Oregon State Credit Union branch on Northwest Lost Springs Terrace. No one at the unopened credit union was hurt, but the driver faces DUII and reckless driving allegations, while the passengers face third-degree theft accusations.
