Beaverton Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Drunk Driver, Say Police

A 61-year-old man is under arrest, charged with DUII and manslaughter, after fatally striking a bicyclist Monday afternoon in Southwest Portland.

Potland Police say that Willard Tow and the bicyclist were both headed east on Southwest Multnomah when Tow struck bicycle at a high rate of speed.

The bicyclist, who has since been identified as Andrzej Kurkowsi, died at the scene.

This is the 22nd fatal crash of the year in Portland, police say.

Tow is expected to make his first court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
