Beaverton Community Invited to Apply for Grants

The city is offering immigrant integration project mini-grants help make city even more open to new residents.

Beaverton is already one of the most diverse cities in Oregon.

Now they are working to make it even more welcoming.

The city is offering "immigrant integration mini-grants."

The grants, up to $500, are meant to encourage cross-cultural exchanges and build relationships between established neighborhoods and new citizens.

"Examples of eligible projects include sharing culture through food, art projects celebrating neighborhood diversity, business tours, film screenings, athletic activities, or educational workshops and advocacy events.," the city said in a release.

Beaverton hopes that people will submit projects that can be carried out during the city's Welcoming Week in September.
