Beaverton Extends Emergency Declaration

Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle has extended an Emergency Declaration for the City of Beaverton until further notice.

April 10, 2020

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle has extended an Emergency Declaration for the City of Beaverton. The declaration, originally announced March 13, will remain in effect and will continue to be extended on a biweekly renewal schedule as required.
The declaration provides increased flexibility with response to the COVID-19 outbreak. It ensures the city has the resources and authority needed to respond to the disease, support the local health authority, and provides emergency rules or guidance for city policies.
City buildings remain closed to the public including City Hall, the Griffith Drive building, both library locations, and other city buildings. Non-essential city events and meetings remain cancelled.
The city is open for remote business and most services are available by phone or online. Visit www.BeavertonOregon.gov for an up-to-date listing of available services and operating hours.
Community members are encouraged to stay home, practice physical distancing and good hygiene, and only travel for essential reasons. When distancing in public is difficult to maintain, wearing a cloth face covering is recommended.
The city has incorporated physical distancing practices into its operations, and has instituted a number of additional responses to COVID-19. In addition, the city has activated its Emergency Operations Center, is following its Continuity of Operations Plan and has increased our attention and added practices to the maintenance of our public buildings.
