BEAVERTON, Ore. – Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle has lengthened an Emergency Declaration for the City of Beaverton. The declaration, originally set to expire today, March 27, will remain in effect for two additional weeks, through Friday, April 10, and may be further extended.
In addition, city buildings will remain closed to the public through at least Sunday, April 26. This includes City Hall, the Griffith Drive building, both library locations, and other city buildings.
The city is open for remote business and most services are available by phone or online.
“Beaverton is doing its part,” said Mayor Denny Doyle. “We continue to look for new ways to support local businesses, residents who are struggling and community members in need. It’s been inspiring to see the outpouring of support and positivity in our community. We are in this together, we will get through this, and be stronger as a result.”
All non-essential events and meetings remain cancelled in response to Gov. Kate Brown’s Executive Order No. 20-12. Opportunities for virtual meetings and teleconferencing are being explored.
Buildings are expected to open Monday, April 27. Closures will be extended as required.
