Beaverton Fire: Six Apartments Badly Damaged
Saturday morning fire sends residents from their homes; apartments now uninhabitable.
Firefighters responded to the Westridge Meadows Apartments at 18392 NW Chemeketa Lane in Beaverton around 9:45 Saturday morning.
The fire started on one of the balconies but it's not clear how it started, according to investigators.
The residents of six units are being forced to find other places to stay.

They are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
Firefighters benefited from the fact that once the fire spread into the building from the balcony, it triggered the fire sprinklers inside.
