Beaverton High School moves another step closer to celebrating 100th graduating class.

As Beaverton High School gets ready to graduate its 100th class this June, the celebration continues.
On Wednesday afternoon, the school will open up a 78-year-old time capsule that was buried in 1938.
The contents of the capsule will be displayed Wednesday evening at the Senior reception and then moved into a display case for the remainder of the year.

As part of the Senior Reception, there will be a display of material going into a new time capsule that won't be opened until 2066.
While there was a newspaper story from 1938 about the capsule, staff had a hard time locating it.

Last week, using a metal detector, they located something that was consistent with what they believed to be in the capsule.
Someone crawled under the cornerstone of the building and was able to feel a box on the other side of the cornerstone.
They cut through the masoned and discovered a sealed copper box.
No one knows exactly what's in the box.
They'll be seen for the first time on Wednesday.
