Beaverton High School Has Two Cases of Whooping Cough

Letter has been sent home letting parents know.

Two people at Beaverton High School have been diagnosed with whooping cough, prompting a letter to be sent home to parents and staff to be notified.

There is a vaccine for whooping cough, which is also known as pertussis. Officials suggest getting a booster every ten years. It is also treated with antibiotics.

It starts out with cold-like symptoms, which is followed by a bad cough that become violent coughing fits.
