Here are the top five stories in Beaverton today:

  1. The WaFd Bank Oregon High School Baseball Player of the Week for April 11-17 are posted at Scorebook Live. Among them are Elijah Arnold, Westview; Peter Coakley, Sunset; Nelson Keljo, Jesuit; and Andy Miller, Mountainside.

  3. Get the latest on the Washington County-based romance novelist who's on trial for allegedly murdering her husband via KOIN.com. On Monday, testimony came from a colleague of the couple regarding Nancy Crampton Brophy's reaction to her husband's death, a gun expert who remarked on the condition of the gun he sold her and a detective who testified to finding a ghost gun kit while executing a search warrant in one of Crampton Brophy's storage units.
  4. Need more fuzziness in your life? Beaverton area shelters have many pets up for adoption and ready for love. Read about Sam, a Lab mix, and Jeff Goldblum — not the actor, but a perhaps equally charming Domestic Shorthair. (Beaverton Patch)
