(Patch Media)

Rise and shine, Beaverton! Here's everything you need to know to get this Tuesday started off right.

First, today's weather:

A thick cloud cover. High: 46 Low: 41.

Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:

  1. Mayor Lacey Beaty called out the League of Oregon Cities director for a now-deleted Tweet. Mike D. Cully, who has served in his role for the last four years, wrote last week that he doesn't tip fast-food workers: "That's what your paycheck is for. Dissatisfied? Get an education and a better job." Cully later apologized to the mayor and reportedly deleted his Twitter account. The League is convening Monday to discuss the matter. Get all the details at OregonLive.
  2. Here's the latest on the case involving a former Forest Grove police officer who drunkenly attacked a home featuring a Black Lives Matter flag. As part of a civil lawsuit settlement, Steven Teets has agreed to surrender his police certification after the incident on October 31, 2020. Mirella Castaneda, the homeowner, says the attack shook her families' sense of security. (KOIN.com)
  3. Police arrested a man Saturday morning after he attempted to run over an officer using a stolen vehicle. Officers used the LoJack system to track a stolen car to an apartment complex in Hillsboro. Travis Johnson, 28, was inside the vehicle and allegedly rammed the officers' vehicle while trying to flee.
