Beaverton Mayor Honored For Community Work

Denny Doyle will receive the Excellence in Action Award Friday night from the Psi Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma Society.

Beaverton's mayor, Denny Doyle, will be honored Friday night for his work with community and youth. He will receive the Excellence in Action Award in a ceremony at the Beaverton Elks Lodge.

The award, presented by members of the Psi Chapter Gamma Society International, has been given out every year since 1978 to a resident of Washington County or a group based there that ha made a difference for youth, supported educational issues, and generally gone beyond what others have accomplished.

"I'm proud to call Beaverton a welcoming and safe place for all to thrive," said Doyle. "I share this award with our staff who work hard to carry out the city's vision of being a place where our most diverse residents and our youth are included in how our city operates."
