BEAVERTON, Ore. – Beaverton Night Market returns for its sixth consecutive year on Friday, August 14 and Saturday, August 15 at 7 p.m. This year, the annual multicultural celebration will take place in a virtual format and feature interactive, cultural sharing experiences livestreamed in English and Spanish.
In collaboration with talented local filmmaker Jordan Thierry of Dream Chase Media and Tualatin Valley Community Television (TVCTV), the event will feature prerecorded and live segments hosted together in a live digital event spanning two nights with original content on each night. Eighteen local vendors from many regions of the world will be featured in workshops, demonstrations and interviews. Six performances will accompany the show, including Bollywood DJ Prashant, West African drumming group Nii Ardey Allotey + Ekome, and more.

The virtual event will prioritize business opportunity, cultural sharing and interactive components including a live chat. Participants can experience a piece of the market at home and support local vendors by purchasing craft kits in advance to assemble while they watch. “The Beaverton Night Market is about how we are a stronger, more welcoming community when we share our cultures and support economic opportunity for all,” said Monica Estrella, Diversity Advisory Board member. “In these challenging times, our goal is to support and encourage our community and make sure they know we don’t give up on them. This year’s format allows us to dive deeper on the stories behind the vendors and their traditions, which is core to what this event is about.”
The Beaverton Night Market is a project of the city’s Diversity Advisory Board, a group of appointed community advisors on equity and inclusion strategies that strengthen connections between diverse communities and city government. For more information, visit www.BeavertonOregon.gov/DAB.
