Beaverton Officer Gives Good Meaning To 'Dirty Cop'

An officer helps a man in distress — and gets a little dirty in the process.

Beaverton Police Officer Daniel Maurer knows that sometimes you have to get a little down and dirty to get the job done.

On Saturday he was dispatched to the 12100 block of Steamboat Drive for a report of a man on the roof of his home acting erratically.

The man was also naked.

Maurer, who is a new officer, and his colleagues managed to talk the man off the roof and get some help. Once down, the man decided that he didn't need to go to the hospital and started to run.

Maurer gave chase — and as is clear from the picture, got a little muddy in the process.

The man was taken to the hospital where he is being evaluated.
