Beaverton Officials Announce Upcoming Waterline Projects, Road Closures Through Summer
A three-phase waterline project will affect the area around Southwest Jenkins Road and Southwest Cedar Hills Boulevard beginning May 8.

BEAVERTON, OR — City officials announced last week the expected partial closures of roads along Southwest Cedar Hills Boulevard in Beaverton for water pipe construction projects that will last through the summer.
The first of a three-phase waterline construction project is expected to begin Monday, May 8, city officials said in a statement. The first project is expected to reduce Southwest Jenkins Road to one lane in each direction between Southwest Briggs Road and Southwest Hocken Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the next six weeks. The closure will allow crews to connect an existing gap in the city's water system and bring a water supply to the 800 Beaverton residents at 45 Central and VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa. Additionally, officials said, parking on the Northside of Southwest Jenkins Road will be temporarily restricted during construction.
The project stems from an agreement made in December between the city and the Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD) to transfer water services provided to the Cedar Hills Crossing and Walker Center developments to the City of Beaverton.

Affected water customers will receive a mail notification that their service is changing within the next two weeks, officials said, adding the change in drinking water will occur sometime in late July or early August and will likely reduce customers water bills.
The second will phase will begin between mid-June and July, and the third will begin in late July. Patch will post updates at the second and third phases get closer to beginning.
