Beaverton Police Bust 32 For DUII In February

The arrests followed 24 in January and is part of a yearlong traffic safety campaign.

Beaverton Police busted 32 drivers for DUII during February, bringing the total number of drivers taken off the streets for DUII this year to 56. Of those, eight refused breath tests and had their blood drawn after a warrant was issued.

The police department is participating in a yearlong national traffic safety campaign aimed at taking impaired drivers off the streets.

The efforts will continue in March and for the rest of the year, according to a spokesman for the police department.

The department says the campaign - referred to as High Visibility Enforcement Details - is paid for by funds from grants.
