Beaverton Police Captain Named Interim Police Chief
Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle has named 24-year Beaverton Police Department veteran Ronda Groshong as the city's Interim Police Chief.
From the City of Beaverton: Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle has named 24-year Beaverton Police Department veteran Ronda Groshong as the city’s Interim Police Chief. Captain Groshong [began] her assignment effective June 28, 2019.
“Captain Groshong has served our city with commitment and pride, and I know she will demonstrate that same conduct as Interim Police Chief,” said Mayor Denny Doyle. “Her experience is significant. I look forward to working with her and have complete confidence in her abilities as a community and department leader.”
Captain Groshong has been with the Beaverton Police Department since 1995, beginning as a patrol officer and holding the position of Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain. In her [former] position, she oversees the department’s Administrative Bureau. She is a Portland State University graduate, and previously served on the Domestic Violence Resource Center Board of Directors.

“Beaverton has been my home during most of my professional career,” said Captain Groshong.
“Through this time of transition, I’m honored to serve as Interim Chief.”
Earlier this year, Beaverton Chief of Police Jim Monger announced his retirement, effective June 27, 2019. Preparation for a competitive recruitment for the next Chief of Police is underway
