The department also says that pedestrians need to remember to wear bright colors and pay attention to the traffic flow when preparing to cross the road. Pedestrians are also required to obey any traffic control device that directs the pedestrian's movement.
Beaverton Police have made a video to remind people about crosswalk safety.
The department continues their efforts on Saturday when they host a child safety clinic at Kuni Auto Center located at 3275 SW Cedar Hills Boulevard. The clinic will last from 9 a.m. through noon with the plan to accept the last car at 11:30 a.m. unless demand necessitates an earlier cut off time.
The department is working with Safe Kids Coalition-Washington County to put on the clinic.
