Beaverton Police To Host Coffee With A Cop July 12
Meet local police, ask burning questions about law enforcement in Beaverton, and enjoy a nice latte from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

BEAVERTON, OR — If you've ever had a question for a police officer but couldn't find a good time to ask it, your opportunity has arrived.
Officers from the Beaverton Police Department will be available to answer questions and talk about police work in general during Coffee With a Cop from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, at the Starbucks at 14600 S.W. Murray Blvd. in Beaverton.
Beaverton police officials invite the community to stop by to meet local law enforcement personnel, ask questions, and learn more about what it takes to keep Beaverton's residents safe.

More often than not, the public's interactions with police happens in emergency situations — not the best place for Q&A time. It's also not the best time for officers to most effectively develop good relationships with the city's diverse populace.
Understanding this is the core reason Coffee With a Cop events are held several times per year at supporting coffee shops throughout the region, and Beaverton is no exception.

"Some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable on the street," BPD spokesman Mike Rowe said in a statement. "Coffee with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction."
