Beaverton Police Issue Warning After Man Tries to Lure Teen

She refused offers to get in the van.

Beaverton Police are warning parents and teens to be on the lookout after a man in a van tried to lure a teen into his vehicle. It happened Friday afternoon at the intersection of Southwest Conestoga and Southwest Downing.

Police say that a hispanic man in his 30s, medium build with short, dark hair tried to get a 14-year-old girl into his slightly beat-up older, white minivan.

She refused and then reported the incident.

Beaverton Police then learned that about one hour before the incident, police in King City had a similar incident with a similar suspect description.

The two departments are now working together to find the man.
