Beaverton Police Say Man Stabbed Himself, Made Up Story of Robbery

Gustavo Miranda Avalos is charged with filing a false report.

A man who was found in the parking lot of the Walmart on Southwest Murray Boulevard in Beaverton with stab wounds to the stomach is now in jail, charged with filing a false report.

Beaverton Police say they arrived just before 3 on Monday morning to find Gustavo Miranda Avalos wounded. He told them he was attacked by two men during a robbery.

Police say there were indications early on that it might have been a fabricated story.

After Avalos was treated and released he confessed to having stabbed himself and making up the story of the attempted robbery.
