Beaverton Resident Gets 50 Months in Prison for Contract Fraud

A man from Beaverton who was convicted of steering contracts to a company owned by his son, has been sentenced to 50 months in prison followed by three years of supervised releaed.
Kennth Apple, 65, had been convicted in federal court for his role in steering State Department contracts for work in Iraq to a company half-owned by his.
According to the US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Apple - when confronted by federal agents - lied about the scheme, even telling them he didn't known who the owner of the country was.
