Beaverton School District Seeks Applicants for Health Project Team

BEAVERTON, OR – Beaverton School District officials are seeking applicants to serve on the district’s Health Project Team.

Beginning September 2017, the Health Project Team will meet one weekday evening per month to review the existing Health course curriculum and practices in order to make informed recommendations for future learning goals, possible additions to the instructional materials used in Health classes, and potential professional development programs for teacher education.

The Health Project Team’s work will conclude June 2018.

Teachers, students, parents and community members all are encouraged to submit letters (or emails) of interest by 4 p.m. April 14.

According to a district statement, letters should provide the following information:

• For students: name, address, school and grade level, and any special training or experience in Health;
• For parents and/or community members: name, address, ages of children and schools where enrolled (if applicable), and any special training or experience in Health;
• For teachers: name, address, teaching experience, and current assignment; and
• A response to this question: Why do you want to serve on the Health Project Team, and what contributions will you make toward its goals?

District officials also ask that respondents limit their answers to no more than one page.
