Beaverton Schools Moving Students to Ease Overcrowding

District moving students from Springville to Timberland.

In a move to ease overcrowding, the Beaverton School District is moving sixth, seventh, and eighth graders from Springville to the new school in the Timberland community.

The change goes into effect next school year.

"There is simply no space remaining at Springville to create new classrooms next year," the district said in a statement. "The move of these three grades and the Emotional Growth Center (formerly BLC) frees up six classrooms.

"Further relief for Springville K-8 will come when the new Kaiser Road K-5 Elementary School opens in September 2017."

As a result of the change, the district says they have been working harder to recruit bus drivers and will be able to offer additional routes for students.
