Beaverton Tax May Harsh Pot Smokers Buzz

Beaverton is considering a three percent tax on recreational marijuana.

The measure, which must be approved by voters in November would bring in approximately $86,000 each year based on data from the Oregon Liquor Control Commission, say city officials.

They applied the data to the five recreational stories currently doing business in Beaverton.

The tax would not apply to medical marijuana.
