Beaverton Traffic Alert: Police Plan Increased Click It Or Ticket Campaign

Wear your seatbelt.

It's the law and, in case for some reason you still forget, Beaverton Police will be out there in greater numbers starting next week.

It's part of the statewide Click it or Ticket Seatbelt Enforcement Campaign.

Since the state passed the law in 1990, crash fatality and injury rates dropped 62% and 32%, respectively.

Last year, Oregon had a 96% compliance rate, making one of the top states for seat belt use. That put Oregon far above the national compliance rate of 87 percent.

The statewide campaign will last through May 29.
