Beeverton Bee Fest For All Ages At Beaverton City Library

Learn about all about bees and how to protect the pollinators on Sunday, July 28 from 1 to 3 p.m.

From the City of Beaverton: Learn all about bees and how you can help these treasured

pollinators! Join Beaverton City Library (12375 SW 5th St) on Sunday, July 28 from 1 to 3 p.m.
to meet urban beekeepers, get your gardening questions answered, and learn to build a
mason bee house for your yard at BEEverton Bee Fest.

Vendors will be sampling and selling honey and related products. Come by to check out More
Bees beauty products, Bee-Licious Honey, Honey Mama’s raw honey chocolate bars, and
more.

Families, join us for storytime at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. to hear bee-themed stories great for kids
ages 2-8.

This year, Adult Summer Reading participants at Beaverton City Library are reading for a
good cause by Reading for Bees. By tracking hours read from June through August,
participants will help earn beehives for farming families in need through MercyCorps Gifts.
For every 700 hours read collectively, our generous sponsor, The Whole Bowl, will donate
one beehive – up to ten beehives total.

Adults ages 18 and older can sign up online at www.wccls.org or in person at the main library or the Murray Scholls branch. We’ll get you started with a $2 coupon for The Book Corner,
the New Friends of the Beaverton City Library’s used bookstore. Each time you submit your
hours read throughout the summer, your name will be entered in our weekly prize drawings.

Learn more about bees on Tuesday, August 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. when the library will screen
the film Queen of the Sun: What Are the Bees Telling Us? This documentary by award-winning filmmaker Taggart Siegel takes an alternative look at the global bee crisis.

BEEverton Bee Fest is free and open to the public; all ages are welcome. For more
