Brussels Attacks: Beaverton Comes Together in Support

Different people from different communities and the message is the same: We Stand Together

Even as events continue to unfold in Brussels, Beaverton wanted the world to know - people must stand together.

And that is the point of a peace vigil scheduled to take place Wednesday evening.

The vigil starts at Hall Boulevard and SW 5th Street, across from the Beaverton City Library at 6PM and then goes to the peace Pole at Bethel Church.

“We will stand in solidarity with the people of Belgium and ask our leaders to seek peaceful solutions that emphasize standing firm against terror while not resorting to the divisive dialog that has followed the attacks,” one of the organizers, Lisa Stiller, told KGW News.

The rally is expected to last until 7PM.
