🌱Cajun Mac Comes To Beaverton + PCC Bioscience For The Win
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Beaverton.

Hello, neighbors! Ash DeMello here with the Wednesday copy of the Beaverton Daily.
First, today's weather:
Mostly sunny and cold. High: 38 Low: 18.
Here are the top five stories in Beaverton today:
- Seems like everyone in the state is anticipating the opening of the Reser Center. Stephen Tonthat reports the latest details on the arts venue, which hosts its first performances the week of March 8. The community's enthusiasm is well demonstrated in an account from Patricia Reser herself about when she first began fundraising for the project: "We raised $600,000 during those [first] 100 days, which tells me that people really wanted to see it succeed, and they're ready for it." (OPB)
- Here's the latest on BSD's changes to masking rules and other COVID-19-related protocols. Colin Miner reports that, among other loosening restrictions, the district is set to allow proms this year. (Beaverton Patch)
- OregonLive reports that around 20 new pizzerias have opened in the Portland area during the COVID-19 pandemic. One is considered among the best according to the paper's experts: Bombay Pizza and Curry. Jayati Ramakrishnan calls the fusion of Indian flavors with pizza "a uniquely American way to experience two old favorites."
- A bioscience jobs boom is creating opportunity for Portland Community College students. Click over to the Press Release Desk to read how a Beaverton High School graduate leveraged her training at PCC into a research internship at the Oregon Health and Sciences University. Another graduate of the PCC Bioscience Program now works for Beaverton-based Sedia Biosciences and its subsidiary, Floragenex, where he says his training informs how he works with clients.
- Some of my fondest teen memories are from Le Bistro Montage, back when you could get a bowl of "spold" mac for $8 under the bridge in S.E. Portland. Imagine my delight when Gabby Urenda reported that the popular restaurant will be joining the B.G. Food Cartel in Beaverton as Montage Ala Cart. The cajun-inspired spot is set to arrive within the first half of March. (P.S., looks like the spold mac is $10 now!) (KOIN)
