Beaverton’s boards and commissions play a critical role in supporting city functions and advising the City Council and Mayor on a variety of issues and topics. All are essential to incorporating the community’s voice in city decision-making. It’s not all feedback-focused though—their creativity has also produced beloved Beaverton programs such as the “Library of Things,” the annual Bike Beaverton event, and the annual Beaverton Night Market events.
“We’re going to bring new voices that haven’t traditionally been at the table,” said Mayor Beaty. “We are actively recruiting community members who can provide diverse perspectives, social networks, and expertise around the City’s work.”

Members will be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council for up to a three-year term, beginning in January 2022.
