🌱 CTL Donates Chromebooks + Forest Grove Officer Heads To Trial

Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:
- A Forest Grove police officer's trial for drunken misconduct has been scheduled. In October of last year, when police charged Steven Teets after he reportedly stormed a neighbor's home because it displayed a Black Lives Matter sign. Teets was reportedly so intoxicated that his speech was incomprehensible and he failed to recognize the responding officers, his co-workers. The trial is set for February 9. - Northwestern Division for the National Association for Amateur Radio (ARRL) has lost one of its valued members, Beaverton resident and ARRL Northwest Division Assistant Director Phil Kane. During his career, Kane served as the FCC San Francisco District Director and worked briefly for Israel's Ministry of Communications as a regulatory engineer. Kane died on November 24 at the age of 84. (ARRL)
- Shout-out to a local company that donated Chromebooks to non-profit groups that support distance learning for underserved students. CTL, headquartered in the Raleigh West neighborhood, made the donation to KairosPDX Early Learning Academy and College Possible Oregon. CTL has operated in the region since 1989. (PRNewswire)
- Check out the latest list of best public high schools in Oregon from Stacker. Local honorees include Southridge High School (#26), Sunset (#13) and Mountainside (#12). Westview came in at #7. Beaverton Academy of Science and Engineering in two of its former iterations ranked at both #15 and #1. (KTVZ)
