Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:
- Take a gander at the City Of Beaverton's Supplemental Budget Summary via the Press Release Desk. The city will hold an in-person public hearing November 15, 2021, to approve the First Supplemental Budget for the 2021-22 fiscal year. Click over to find out how to submit comments and other important details.
- Learn about plans to vaccinate kids at local schools over at KATU. Beaverton School District is teaming up with Virginia Garcia to distribute pediatric COVID-19 shots. Every recipient will get a $50 grocery card. The first clinic will be Friday, November 12, at Aloha Huber Park (5000 SW 173rd Avenue).
- TVF&R has some new tools in their kits. The agency acquired 60 new LIFEPAK 15 cardiac monitors, which are used to evaluate individuals during most emergency interactions. TVF&R's previous fleet of cardiac monitor-defibrillators had been in use since 2006 and was no longer supported by the manufacturer. (Cedar Mill News)
- Here's a couple of road construction projects that are starting this week, courtesy of Washington County Land Use & Transportation:
- Grabhorn Road, between Farmington Road and Leland Drive: expect lane closures with flagging, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM, November 5-10;
- Evergreen Road at Starr Boulevard for 600 feet west, daytime lane closure, November 8-January 31.
- The City of Beaverton issued an alert Friday after an accident in the area of Murray and Brockman/Beard caused slick road conditions. The outlet urged drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area or proceed with caution as crews worked to fix the problem. Get the latest updates at the City of Beaverton Traffic Alert page.
