Mostly cloudy, a little rain. High: 57 Low: 50.
Here are the top stories in Beaverton today:
- See what a local pharmacist has to say about the wait for Moderna and J&J boosters. Beaverton Pharmacy's Wade Irby says demand for the Pfizer booster has kept the pharmacy busy, and the new boosters will likely make it even busier. The shots have been approved by the FDA, but Oregon and Washington residents have to wait for the Western States Scientific Safety Review Workgroup and the Oregon Healthy Authority to give approval too. - If you're in the market for a home in the Metro area, you've likely experienced a lot of frustration. Jayati Ramakrishnan reports that prices are still climbing, although the scene is becoming less competitive. While the median sale price is up about 13 percent over last year, the number of new listings is also up about 15 percent. Read the experiences of buyers and opinions of realtors over at the article on OregonLive.
- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EOCC) applauded a young woman's courage after she chose to come forward with allegations of sexual harassment against the Hannah Pet Hospital of Tigard. The EOCC filed suit against the business on her behalf, and the hospital recently settled for $45,000. Read more details at Beaverton Patch.
- Get a closer look at The Book Corner downtown via a KXL interview with Roger Tobin, Board Chair of the New Friends of the Beaverton City Library. The cozy spot's profits go to support the city library. All offerings at the shop are $5 or less, with kids' books going for $1.
- Feeling in need of some healthy competition? Go support a local team at one of the many varsity football games scheduled for this weekend. Highlights include BHS versus Sunset and Mountainside versus Jesuit, both on Friday. Check out the list at Patch.com.
