Ecuador Earthquake: Paramedic with TVF&R Doing What He Can to Help
Normally assigned to a station in Beaverton, Dan Livengood is in Ecuador.

Dan Livengood has been a paramedic with Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue since 1995.
Normally he works out of Station 67 in Beaverton, responding to all sorts of calls around Washington County.
Now, though, he is in Ecuador, helping that country recover from a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake over the weekend.

Less than a day after the quake - which killed at 350 and injured at least 2,658 - Livengood was on a plane with the One Flag Disaster Response Tea,
One Flag is a a not-for-profit disaster release organization that transports first responders to disasters around the world.

Livengood has been on relief missions to Japan and Thailand among other places.
Livengood - and all volunteers with the organization - pat their own way.
TVF&R put out a statement saying their medical personnel regularly deploy on disaster relief efforts.
"With every deployment, they bring back skills and expertise that benefit the community and the fire district," said a spokeswoman.
