  1. Nike is among five large companies (1,000 employees or more) that earned Fast Company's Best Workplaces for Innovators recognition. The list celebrates companies from around the world that stayed creative despite unprecedented times. (Fast Company)
  2. Restaurateurs have heard the call, Beaverton! Matt Vicedomini, owner of Matt's BBQ, says the number one spot customers requested a location was our humble `burb. The brisket-slinger is planning to open a second location at Breakside Brewery's cart pod as early as this fall. (OregonLive)
  3. A former Nike manager was sentenced for a fraud scheme this past week. Errol Andam, 47, pleaded guilty to diverting and embezzling nearly $1.5 million in Nike proceeds for his own use and unfairly awarding contracts to a childhood friend. The court ordered Andam to pay restitution and serve 31 months in federal prison. (KPTV.com)
  4. Bowerman Track Club runner Courtney Frerichs took the silver medal in women's steeplechase at the Tokyo Olympics on Wednesday. (Twitter)
  5. Kelcie Grega reports on THPRD's plan to put more parks near affordable housing. The parks org is working on building community partnerships and waiving system development charges in order to support affordable housing projects. What will this effort look like?
