Here are the top five stories today in Beaverton:
- Another fire struck downtown Hillsboro Sunday, just shortly after the blaze that displaced 17 people on Saturday. Firefighters responded to a four-alarm commercial building blaze on Main Street early Sunday morning. Kelly Doyle reports that 25 nearby buildings are possibly affected by the smoke and water. The cause hasn't yet been determined. (KOIN)
- Learn more about the crash on December 31 that killed a Forest Grove man over at Pamplin Media Group (click here for free access using your WCCLS login or click here if you have a paid subscription). Investigators say William L. Bartels, 65, was driving at a high rate of speed on Southwest Farmington and Rood Bridge roads when he lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital later that day.
- Heads up, prospective Beaverton homebuyers: Here are five new properties on the market. There are a couple of darling smaller homes at mid-range prices, as well as a family home for $774,900 in the Oak Hills area.
