Fitness Together Owner Arrested For DUII After Crashing Into Raleigh Hills Home, Police Say
After midnight Oct. 18, Tony Magden allegedly crashed into a house, severing a gas line, before fleeing on foot back to his own home.

RALEIGH HILLS, OR — After crashing into a home in Southwest Portland and rupturing a gas line, forcing 20 people to evacuate their homes shortly after midnight Wednesday, the owner of a fitness business was arrested by Washington County deputies on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Fitness Together owner, and certified personal trainer, Anthony Roy Magden, 47, was charged with DUII, hit and run, criminal mischief, and reckless driving.
According to police, Magden crashed his black Chevrolet Yukon into a house near the intersection of Southwest Scholls Ferry Road and Southwest Raleighwood Way, east of Raleigh Hills, around 12:30 a.m. Oct. 18. After striking the house and severing a gas line, Magden reportedly fled on foot, running roughly half a mile north to his home on Southwest Raleighwood Lane.

Washington County Sheriff's Sgt. Eamon O'Reilly and his K9 partner Radar tracked Magden and arrested him shortly after the crash, police said.

Deputies reportedly needed to quickly evacuate 20 people from nine homes in the area. Evacuated residents were provided TriMet buses to sit in while NW Natural, Portland General Electric, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and Washington County Land Use and Transportation officials got the gas leak under control, police said.

According to Magden's biography on his Fitness Together website, he has more than 15 years of athletic training experience.
"Tony's background includes providing one-on-one personal training and teaching group classes, training and developing swimmers at all levels as the head coach of Hillsboro Heat Swim Team and the Weight Room/Aquatics Manager of the NIKE World Campus fitness facilities.
"Whether coaching an Olympic swimming hopeful or designing a program for elder adults, Tony has an abundance of energy and passion to assist in helping an individual achieve their goals. Tony understands the value and importance of physical fitness to improve one's overall quality of life. One of Tony's greatest rewards in his career is staying in contact with past clients and athletes and knowing he has had a small impact in their life.
