Here are the top stories in Beaverton today:
- Two people were extricated from a flipped truck after a crash on Tuesday over on Southwest 170th Avenue and Southwest Barcelona Way. Kelly Doyle reports that although one person was transported to a local hospital, authorities say that none of the injuries were severe. The Washington County Sheriff's Office is working to determine the cause of the two-car collision. (KOIN.com)
- PCC Sylvania's HT Building basement got a makeover recently when a former weight room and dance studio were transformed into a "high-tech marvel." The space now offers a state-of-the-art medical imaging lab, a group study area, kitchenette, break area and a computer classroom. The improvements were funded by 2017 voter-approved bond measure to support workforce training programs such as PCC's X-Ray tech program. (Press Release Desk)
- Beaverton native Grace Massey received more accolades for her volleyball performance at OSU. The senior captain earned an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. Massey was also selected as one of 30 candidates for the prestigious Senior CLASS award. (OSU Beavers)
- OregonLive shares a Q&A with the current CEO of See's Candies, who lived in Portland as a youth. Pat Egan became CEO of See's in 2019, but he remembers picking up gifts and anticipating the free sample at the Washington Square See's when he was a kid. Egan gives some hints as to candies we might see on display in the near future and shares that some of the cherries used in the recipes come from right here in the Pacific Northwest.
