Stay up to date on everything happening in Beaverton with Patch's daily newsletter.

Hey, Beaverton! Here's everything you need to know to get this Tuesday started off right.
First, today's weather: Partly cloudy throughout the day. High: 83 Low: 56.
Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:
- Beer is part of our culture here in the great PNW, and Beaverton is no exception. Tune into the Beat Check with The Oregonian podcast to hear reporter Andre Meunier talk about the "explosion of breweries" blessing our fair city in the near future, including Von Ebert, Loyal Legion and Breakside. Meunier and host Andrew Theen agree that "the future is Beaverton" when it comes to beer. (The Oregonian)
- Looking for something healthy to nosh? Portland Business Journal readers ranked their top healthy restaurant choices in the area and a couple of Beaverton spots scored accolades! Caffe Mingo, Mingo's parent restaurant in NW Portland, scored ninth place, while downtown's Afuri tied for sixth place. (Portland Business Journal)
- The annual Hillsboro Hometown Heroes Parade is among the latest cancellations caused by the COVID-19 Delta variant surge. This year's event was set to honor essential workers, service providers, parents and teachers, but organizers say staying safe is the best way to do that for now. The parade is organized by the City of Hillsboro and the Hillsboro Rotary Club. (Pamplin Media Group)
- Time is ticking for the City of Beaverton, which has until next summer to change its code to one that's friendlier to middle housing options under a state mandate. Middle housing includes accessory dwellings, '-plexes,' courtyard apartments, cottage clusters and more. Planners are looking to community members for ideas, and they'll have a table at the September 11 Beaverton Farmers Market to get your thoughts. (Pamplin Media Group)
- Monday saw an increase in COVID-related hospitalizations throughout the state, leaving only 7 percent of ICU beds unoccupied. The numbers are at their highest since early on in the pandemic. Washington County reported 401 new cases. (KGW)
