Here are the top five stories in Beaverton today:

- If you have kids, you've likely spent a significant amount of time queuing in your car for pick-up and drop-off before and after school. The practice causes air pollution, and Beaverton School District's Safe Routes to School is working to find ways to stop idling. The program promotes walking and biking to school and seeks to make those routes safer for kids to use. (BikePortland.org)
- Beaverton Patch shares a list of Beaverton-area open houses just in time for a weekend of house hunting. Highlights include a big, beautiful home with a stone façade and ample wine storage in the Forest Heights area as well as a more budget-friendly brand-new townhome in the South Cooper Mountain neighborhood.
