Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for New Beaverton Elementary School

It was shovels in on Northwest Kaiser Road in Beaverton on Tuesday.

It was the groundbreaking for the new Kaiser Road K-5 school in the North Bethany area.

The school's planning principal, Cheryl Hagseth was on hand along with parents and district representatives.

The school. which will open in 2017, will house 750 students in an 87,000 square foot building that will sit on nearly 10 acres,

There will be 32 classrooms, nine additional teaching spaces including five flex commons, a stage, a teaching area in the library, a 6,717 square foot dividable gym, and a 3,705 square foot cafeteria.

The playground will include a 10,000 squad for covered area.
