The winner of this special Story Slam will receive a $10 Book Corner gift certificate.

BEAVERTON, OR — Do you have a funny, disastrous holiday story or a touching anecdote to share? Head out to the Beaverton City Library for a holiday edition Story Slam from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17.
The Beaverton City Library says a Story Slam is a "friendly, open-mic storytelling competition." Want to know how it works?
Each potential participant will write their name down and put it in a hat. The people chosen from the hat will get to tell their true, personal 5- to 8-minute story, which must be told from memory.
