Here are the top stories in Beaverton today:
- Life Flight activated Sunday after a vehicle crash in Cornelius. The crash happened at the corner of Northwest Subsauer and Wren Roads, downing powerlines and injuring at least two individuals. One of the people hurt in the accident had to be evacuated and flown to a local hospital for serious injuries. (KOIN)
- Prepare ahead to avoid delays! Washington County LUT News reports that Century Boulevard will be closed to pedestrians at the railroad crossing south of Tualatin Valley Highway until 5:00 PM today. Visit the newsletter to see where and how to catch that shuttle if you're planning on heading to South Hillsboro.
- A regional vintner is expanding. Michael Alberty reports on Cooper Mountains Vineyards' acquisition of two vineyards in the Willamette Valley. The purchase expands Cooper Mountains' growing space to 217 acres. (OregonLive)
- Cedar Mill News always has great, hyperlocal tidbits to share about that neighborhood; I highly encourage a click over. This month is chocked-full of activities and volunteer opportunities, such as joining Treekeepers of Washington County to map and measure street trees in the area. The deadline for registering to participate in the street trees project is January 23.
- Here are the latest COVID numbers, updated near the end of last week: Washington County reported 92 new cases last week. About 70 percent of the cases (statewide) were among the unvaccinated population. Four COVID-related deaths were reported in Washington County, three of which occurred in individuals 90 years of age or older. (KATU)
