Hey, neighbors! It's me again, Ash DeMello, your host of the Beaverton Daily. I hope today finds you cozy and comfy, maybe sipping a warm drink, working through a stack of novels or playing board games with your favorite folks. Here's the latest from the area to get your day started right!

First, today's weather:

Cloudy. High: 53 Low: 47.

Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:

  1. A 20-year-old TikTokker from Beaverton who introduced the world to biohazard clean-ups continues to garner interest. Patch shared a story about Jacob Suarez, cleaning pro, back in June. In those days, he had "just" about a million followers. Now Suarez boasts nearly 4 million followers, according to a recent article in Portland Monthly. 2. Coffee, rain and beer are our culture here in the great PNW. We'll soon have a new way to celebrate one of those items— get ready to welcome the 'Hillsbrew Fest' beer festival to Hillsboro in February. The well-regarded team behind the Oregon Brewers Festival is bringing 30 craft breweries and two cideries to the Wingspan Event & Conference Center from February 25 through 27. The event will also feature live music, food vendors and free craft root beer for designated drivers! 3. Here's a reminder to watch where you're walking: TVF&R crews worked with Tigard police to rescue a woman who had fallen into a hole along train tracks in Tigard on Sunday. The woman reportedly had been trapped for "awhile," but only drew attention when a bystander heard her cries for help. A technical rescue crew used a pulley system to extract the individual. She was later taken to the hospital for assessment. (KATU and Twitter)
  4. A 39-year-old Aloha man decided to go for a joy ride this past weekend, choosing a stolen backhoe as the vehicle for his adventure. Oregon State Police troopers and the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office worked together to track down the wannabe Mr. Toad, who managed to drive the vehicle around 30 miles while evading police early Sunday morning. The backhoe was stolen from a lot in Beaverton, police say. (Officer.com)
  5. A local woman fell victim to a cryptocurrency scam via social media, reports Haley Rush. Roussy Tello Ramirez recorded an endorsement video that urged folks to participate in an investment program that promised high returns. Later, Ramirez found out that was untrue. She says the people behind the cryptocurrency program hacked her Instagram account and sent her followers the video she recorded. Some of them signed up for the program, losing hundreds of dollars each. Get the rest of the story at Fox12.
