Here are the top five stories in Beaverton today:

  1. A Beaverton man is helping clean up a homeless camp during his visits to Bend. Will Weitzer asked the people in the camp along Hunnell Road how he could help, and they gave him some direction. He's removed several truckloads of trash during his visits. (KTVZ)
  2. The excitement around La Chona getting a 'brick-and-mortar' home in Cedar Mill continues. The owners have operated Abuela Chona, an Argentine food cart, at B.G.'s Food Cartel since 2018. Now they're realizing their plans of a more permanent location with an Argentinian wine bar, set to open in mid-summer. Get the whole story at Eater Portland.
  3. Visit a local Black-owned tea and chocolate company on one of the most recent editions of Kohr Explores. Mamancy Tea is a celebrated company with locations in Hillsboro and Beaverton.   4. A man found guilty of attempting to murder a young girl after breaking into her bedroom was sentenced on Feb. 16. Robert Wade Jackson will spend 25 years in prison for the 2018 crime. (KPTV.com)
  5. A coffee shop along Highway 99W in Tigard was the scene of a robbery on Tuesday afternoon. Police say a woman with pink hair used a handgun to get money from employees at the site.
