The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Beaverton.

Happy Wednesday, Beaverton! Here's everything you need to know to get this day started.

Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:
- A Lyft driver was arrested on Tuesday in Beaverton and accused of rape, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred in October when Lyft driver Omar Al Naser is said to have picked up a passenger. Instead of taking the client to their destination, allegations assert that Al Naser kidnapped them, taking them to his home. Deputies are actively looking for additional victims. (KOIN.com)
- Here's the update on the Bethany-area gas station from Kelcie Grega via Pamplin Media Group: Neighbors are organized and hostile when it comes to the proposed addition to their neighborhood. It doesn't help that the theoretical Chevron is adjacent to the sensitive wetlands along the Rock Creek Greenway or that the developer, Bob Barman, is requesting to place a building closer to the busy roadway than is technically allowed. Barman seems to be weighing his options; he requested a continuance until January 20 to adjust his development plans. - A possible drug kingpin in our area pleaded guilty to charges against him on Tuesday. Victor Alvarez Farfan, 49, is said to have resold methamphetamine and heroin in Hillsboro, Gresham, Portland and Hood River and Tacoma, Washington. His arrest and that of 17 other alleged co-conspirators was the result of a collaboration between the Westside Interagency Narcotics (WIN) Task Force (which works in Washington County) and the Clackamas County Interagency Task Force (CCITF). - A possible gas leak prompted evacuations and a shelter in place order in one Beaverton neighborhood on Monday afternoon. Around ten households were displaced. TVF&R reported unofficially via Twitter that the Cooper Mountain-area leak was fixed around 5:40 PM that evening. (KATU)
- A former video engineer and producer at Beaverton's Tektronix who served as the nation's first out transgender mayor has died. Stewart "Stu" Rasmussen succumbed to prostate cancer last Wednesday, November 17. Rasmussen was mayor for two terms in Silverton beginning in 1988 and was re-elected in 2008. (Yahoo News)
