Hey, neighbors— you've made it to Sunday! Here's a fresh edition of the Beaverton Daily.


First, today's weather:

Here are the top stories in Beaverton today:

  1. A missing Aloha man with dementia has been found safe, KATU Staff reports. Authorities requested community assistance to locate 74-year-old Greg Stone, who went missing Friday morning. The Washington County Sheriff's Office tweeted early Saturday that Mr. Stone had been located. (KATU)
  2. Head over to the Press Release Desk to read more about City Council's decision to extend eviction protections for an additional 30 days. The statement directs renters in need of assistance to visit the City's housing website for additional information. The decision to approve the extension was made unanimously.
  3. Netflix's violent 'Squid Game' has taken the world by storm, driving an American interest in Korean culture. Check out Portland Monthly's list of where to find food from the incredibly popular show throughout the Metro area. The article directs folks to Chimcking on Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway for a taste of ddukbokki and H Mart in Tigard for Soju and Samyang Ramen.
  4. Plan accordingly: Expect nighttime delays at the intersection of Cornell Road and Murray Boulevard starting Monday. The traffic signal will be shut down for utility work from 9:00 PM through 5:00 AM the whole week. The work will continue through October 25. (Washington County LUT)
  5. Are you feeling the need to stretch your legs and enjoy this fine fall weather? Willamette Week offers a list of four worthwhile hikes in the Metro area. On this side of the river, you can enjoy Scaponia County Park along the East Fork Nehalem River. "Scaponia" refers to the park's location between Vernonia and Scappoose.

  • Washington County Open Studios Tour - Over 50 local artists are opening their studios across the county this weekend. Free; face masks required. Click the link for more info and a map of participating studios. (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
  • Corral Creek Bluegrass Band @ Carpenter Creek Farm and Winery. Head to Forest Grove for live music and relax with a glass of wine. $10 parking. (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM)
  • Dogs and Tales - Tigard Public Library hosts an opportunity for kids to practice reading to a certified therapy dog. It's a great way to build confidence! Registration required. (2:30 PM)
  • A Fine Mess - Scootch your way to Tigard's Fido's & 48 North Pizzeria for Scottish, Irish and American folk music. $10 cover charge plus minimum $5 drink purchase required. (3:00 PM - 6:00 PM)
