Mobile Vaccines + Mayors Rally For Dreamers + Chamber Music Fest
Here's a five-minute guide to everything worth knowing in town today.

Happy Friday, Beaverton! Here's everything you need to know going on today.
First, today's weather: Mostly cloudy throughout the day. High: 77 Low: 60.
Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:
- Washington County is launching a mobile vaccine team in response to the recent COVID-19 surge. Officials say the team will provide vaccinations in neighborhoods where people have been slower to get the vaccine as well as at farmers' markets and community events. (Pamplin Media Group)
- If you're looking for logic in the Portland-area housing market, you may be waiting a while. Two near-identical townhomes in the Five Oaks-Triple Creek neighborhood recently sold for remarkably different prices. Realtors point to one of the homes being priced less than market value as the point that ultimately led to a higher offer. (OregonLive)
- A group of Portland-area mayors is calling on Congress to prevent deportation for individuals benefitting from the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act (DREAM). Beaverton's Lacey Beaty joined Mayors Callaway, Snyder and Wheeler, along with dozens of other mayors from around the nation, to urge federal lawmakers to provide permanent protections and a pathway to citizenship. (Pamplin Media Group)
- Reporter Dan Tilkin helped a Beaverton couple get their state tax refund after months of waiting. Retirees Frank and Gloria Baburek filed their taxes in March, but their state tax return was still listed as "in process" until recently. Baburek credits the reporter for following up with the state and helping the couple identify the reason for the hold-up. (KOIN.com)
- Joelle Joans reports on the rising use of illicit fentanyl, drug-related overdoses and deaths in Oregon. The state saw an almost 70% increase in overdose deaths from 2019 to 2020. Washington County is seeking to educate residents of the dangers of fentanyl use with its One Pill Can Kill campaign, which launched earlier this week. (KOIN)
