Hi all. It's me, Ash DeMello, your host of the Beaverton Daily — here to explain everything you need to know about what's happening in town.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Beaverton Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top five stories in Beaverton today:
- Washington County deputies nabbed four alleged child predators in an online sting on June 2, reports a news release from the agency. Deputies posed as both male and female minors during the operation via social media, drawing four individuals who requested to meet in person. Deputies believe the four suspects may have additional victims. (KGW.com)
- The Beaverton Police Department is seeking help to locate a teen runaway, 14-year-old Mercedez M. Castro-Tyler. She was last seen near Allen Boulevard and Menlo Road on Thursday, June 2. Click over to Beaverton Police Department via Facebook to read a description of Castro-Tyler and see a recent picture.
- An overturned dump truck caused the closure of Highway 217 Southbound near Hall Boulevard on Friday. Firefighters were on the scene shortly before 11 a.m. after the vehicle ran into the overpass. The driver sustained injuries and was taken by ambulance for treatment. Crews are inspecting the overpass for damage. (Twitter)
- Friday was National Doughnut Day, and KOIN.com's Kohr Harlan took a trip to Paris Baguette in honor of the occasion. The Cedar Hills Crossing bakery offers sweet and savory baked items, along with a seasonal special: mochi doughnuts with raspberry sauce.
- A new stage is coming to the Westside. McMenamins Grand Lodge is set to begin its summer concert series, Summer in the Grove, on June 16. The new venue will offer seats for 3,000 attendees. Learn more about the people behind the project and the 11 incoming bands over at FOX12.

From my notebook:
- Tigard Public Library is hosting an event they say is perfect for sarcastic teens, the Disappointing Parks Poster Contest. No better way to describe it than the library's own words: "Have you ever looked at Purple Mountain's Majesty and thought…meh? Are you a naturally sarcastic person? [...] Create a one-star poster for a park, whether fictional or real, explaining why you Do Not Recommend in pictures and words." There's even an award for the winner. If you have a teen who might be inspired (or uninspired?) by this project, the library is accepting submissions through August 31.
- Sunday, June 5, marks the beginning of Trailer Safety Week. That means it's a great time to perform any routine maintenance and review safety standards and guidelines for towing. Get educated via the link!
Thanks for following along and staying informed. I'll be back in your inbox tomorrow with another update!
