Mountain View Middle School Lockdown Lifted; Assault Suspect Arrested, Police Say

BEAVERTON, OR — Mountain View Middle School was briefly placed on lockdown Friday morning while police searched for a suspect who allegedly assaulted a Washington County Sheriff's deputy at a McDonald's in south Aloha, police said.

Hayden Landry Davis, 24, has been taken to the Washington County Jail on charges of assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest; Davis also had a felony warrant for his arrest, which is what led to the altercation with a Washington County Sheriff's deputy, police said.

Shortly after 7 a.m. May 26, WCSO Deputy Ryan Tack responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Farmington Center, 17455 S.W. Farmington Rd. in Aloha. Upon his arrival, Tack located Davis and attempted an arrest. Davis reportedly fought back, injuring Tack before fleeing on foot.

Sheriff's officials quickly formed a perimeter around the area and placed Mountain View Middle School on lockdown, police said. Mountain View did not have any students in class today.

Assisting in the search, Hillsboro Police Officer Matt Schmidt and his K9 partner Blazer led deputies to a home near the school where they found Davis hiding outside.

Tack suffered abrasions and bruises to his head, police said, but is expected be OK.
