Naked And Unafraid: Sheriff's Deputies Arrest Black Rock Burglar In Aloha
To help conceal himself, Patrick Jones stripped down to nothing after allegedly burglarizing the TV Highway Black Rock Coffee Bar.
ALOHA, OR — An alert customer at the Black Rock Coffee Bar in Aloha on Tuesday helped Washington County Sheriff's deputies locate and arrest a naked man suspected of burglarizing the highway coffee stand just a short while earlier.
Aloha resident Patrick L. Jones, 34, has been lodged at the Washington County Jail on charges of burglary and theft, according to sheriff's spokesman Det. Robert Rookhuyzen.
Around 9 a.m. June 6, Jones (while still clothed) reportedly snuck through the unlocked backdoor of the Black Rock Coffee Bar located at 17455 S.W. Tualatin Valley Highway, in the unincorporated area of Washington County known locally as Aloha. While inside, Jones allegedly burgled the wallet and purse of the on-duty Black Rock employees.

A customer sitting in line at the coffee stand saw Jones emerge from the structure, Rookhuyzen said, and later told sheriff's officials that Jones did not appear to be an employee. Thinking quickly, the customer decided to call police and then follow Jones.
A short distance away the customer confronted Jones, retrieved the stolen items, and took Jones' picture to help police, Rookhuyzen said. Jones then rode off on his bicycle to the sound of police sirens fast approaching.

Deputies located Jones about one block from the coffee stand, near the intersection of Southwest 173rd Avenue and Southwest Alexander Street.
When he was found, Jones had reportedly stripped off all his clothes "in order to blend in with the flora and fauna of Aloha," Rookhuyzen said — the reason Jones reportedly gave the arresting deputies for his nudity. "These things you just can't make up."
Patch has reached out to the customer who helped with the arrest and will update this post if and when that person calls.
